I read every message. If you're flagging an outdated rule or a rate that's changed, please include the state or article URL so I can verify and update it quickly.
What to include, so a correction can actually be checked
The messages that get acted on fastest are the ones that name a source. If you are telling me a filing period, a limit or a fee on this site is wrong, the fastest possible message is the URL of my page, the sentence you are disputing, and a link to the agency page or statute that says otherwise. I will read the source before I change anything, and if your source and mine disagree I will say so on the page rather than quietly pick one.
What I will and will not answer
I will answer questions about where a figure on this site came from, which agency page it was read on, and when. I will correct errors, and I would rather hear about one from you than from a reader who acted on it.
I will not tell you whether to buy a particular policy, quote you a price, act as your agent, or tell you what your own state will accept in your specific case. Those answers depend on your record and on paperwork I cannot see, and the agency that imposed your requirement is the only party whose answer is binding. Ask them for your start date and your end date in writing.
How corrections are handled
When a factual claim here turns out to be wrong, the page keeps its URL, the claim is corrected in place, and what it used to say goes into the corrections log with the date — because a reader who acted on the old version deserves to be able to find out. The log is public, it is not pruned, and every entry names the page it affected. Where a state blocks my connection and I could only read an official page in an archived copy, the sources box on that page links both and marks which one I read.
Advertising and commercial contact
This site carries advertising, which is disclosed in full on the advertiser disclosure page. I do not accept paid placements inside articles, paid links, sponsored reviews, or payment to name an insurer as a recommendation. Requests of that kind do not need a reply from me and will not get one.
